Hi guys, just a quick post for any CAP regs reading, there is a new pricing structure included in the latest update of the manual, which can be downloaded HERE
Basically, we have moved to the system of having an SSNL version and a completely unlocked version, with more affordable pricing.
The price for an SSNL pack, which will be locked to 50nl CAP, is $100.
The price for the unlocked pack, which works on all stakes, is capped at $299.
The reason for this is a lot of players seem to game select anything between 100nl to 1knl. It quickly became apparent that the pricing structure did not work for these kinds of players. The pricing structure was largely based on the NoteCaddy Advantage pricing originally, but it seems in these stakes a guy who plays 1knl will not spread his games over so many stakes as a CAP player will.
I think that if there's one thing that is annoying about analyzing your opponents play, it is setting up filters! I dunno, maybe some guys get a kick out of it, but for me it is the pits. I'm always sifting through lists of variables to set and unset, checking the spot, rechecking it, rinse, repeat.
So tonight I scripted a bunch of basic filter files for 6max cap games that you can download.
There are 84 filter files in total. Here's a pic to illustrate:
So as you can probably see, they are defined for the postflop pot-state (HU or Multiway), the hero's postflop position (IP or OOP) and their action for that street. I'll also possibly do some preflop stuff. (I didn't do preflop filters from the outset because they are simple enough to create in the filter window of HM2, and adding heaps of filter files to your filter file list will defeat this exercize since it will take considerable time to find the filter you want!).
The idea behind this was to create a base list of post flop filters, and then only have to worry about manually adding texture filters, betsize filters or whatever you desire.
If anybody has any suggestions or needs any help with these shoot me a comment!
I have been a little bit lazy this week but felt like posting a giraffe-less blog.
I've been playing a little bit of 888 push-fold tables, and since it is a new game for me I have had a lot of study to do for it (I've never let my stack run below 20bb in CAP, I don't think I ever did this at the FTP shallow tables when i used to play those either). I'm working on creating my own HUD for myself and my coach so, on top of developing that, studying, playing those games as well as some CAP, and working on various things for my existing CAP/Short-Stacking HUD, my hands have been pretty full!
I noticed a few guys asking about the support included with my package and I was surprised when people were pleasantly surprised when I explained how I envisaged the support forum for the 20bb CAP and ShortStacking HUD to be, so I thought making a post detailing my thoughts about it would be a good exercise for any future guys that want to know about it:
I don't see it as a support forum. Rather a small club, or secret society of short-stackers. I have a few really good reasons (detailed below) for why this club will be successful.
I imagine that the clients for this HUD solution will not be
a massive group, for a variety of reasons. I’ve developed a lot of HUD stuff
for different grinders and the most obvious hurdle when creating a new HUD is
that grinders usually are already very attached to their existing HUD. The
thought of dropping that and adopting a new system is not very appealing. This could even be the sole reason people turn
their backs on this opportunity, and that is fine. However I do want to explain
a few things.
Notecaddy is an extremely underutilized tool, but it won’t
be for long. I can personally ensure that many high-stakes grinders are
currently using customized HUDs that make exceptional use of what NoteCaddy has
to offer. They understand that adapting to a new HUD, while it might take some
getting used to, is far too +EV to pass up.
There does exist staking groups that commission people like
myself to develop HUD solutions that they introduce to all of their horses. This
is particularly effective for post-game review and sweat sessions – (think of
how much easier it is to instruct someone when they use exactly the same HUD
system as you). For this reason I’ve opened up a video section in the support
forum, for customers to upload videos for peer review. If any of you have been
a member of a skype group or studied with someone else using this method, you
will realise just how much this kind of study can help you grow as a player. My
hope is that customers who enter the CAP hud forum see it more as an
opportunity to be part of a super-study group rather than buying just a hud.
Using the same HUD as other grinders provides the
opportunity to have many minds thinking about how to further improve the
system. I can guarantee that this HUD will not be sold as-is and never
improved. Both ShortStackHero and myself play CAP, and use this HUD ourselves.
When we discover better ways to streamline information or a customer makes a
valid suggestion, we will make sure it is implemented and passed on in future
updates. Think: grouping players by player type (colour definition solution) and the re-introduction of 20-40bb shallow tables at Full Tilt Poker. These are the new frontiers we want to explore in future updates, all of which you, as a customer, will receive for free.
Anyway, for now that is all I have to say on the topic. I will leave you with a video that ShortStackHero created, where he provides commentary on the HUD package (this has been long awaited, and a replayer video is still in the works, but seeing this should answer a lot of questions I have been commonly asked).
Psyched to have completed this. It has taken many many hours and I've poured so much into this! But it is finally here. It is finished. And it has been done right, which was my top priority moving into this project.
I won't post too much about it here as I'm super busy with setting up the support forum and some other projects but all information about the project (what it is, why it will help any aspiring cap player, how to use it, etc) can be found by viewing the manual HERE, or the sales page HERE.
My contact details are included in the manual so please take some time to look through it and see exactly what is on offer.
I've been able to play a little at the tables this month using the final pack and the results speak for themselves:
(obvious rungood in the graph but I think this HUD has really helped me pick off opponents in many more spots than usual).
I don't really want to blow the trumpet of this product, I don't think a whole lot needs to be said for it. But its good, its effective, and I'm really proud of the quality of what ShortStackHero and I have accomplished.
